November Country Fair Blog Party

Country Fair Blog Party by Country LINKedWelcome to the November addition of the Country Fair Blog Party! A month has already passed since the last party and we are still in harvest mode. I wish I could report that the combines are tucked away for another year, but not yet. Soon I hope! The very wet spring and summer lead to a very late planing date for our soybeans, and they are just now ready for harvesting. Yields are not going to be as good as we hopped, but we feel very blessed to have gotten our fields planted and that there is a crop to harvest.

On to the Country Fair!

Here are my October Purple Ribbon Winners:

LAURA UNEARTHED – Why I Want My Children to be Losers

“My girls need a desire to win, or they won’t try their best.  It’s okay to fail, but not to set out being okay with failing.  But, then again, I guess “winning” is achieving the goal you started with… so maybe I’d be a wise parent to not dictate the goal.”  – Laura

NEBRASKA WHEATIE – Love in the Shape of a Red Balloon

“Maybe I feel a connection because of my own children. I can’t imagine having to go through what his family is going through – trying to figure out their new “normal”. The only thing that would/could get me through something as painful as this would be the knowledge that I would see him again one day. God says so.” – Tracy

COOKING WITH CARLEE – Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Sheet Cake – A Guest Post by MiMi

“I did not want this to be like a cookie but rather a cake that tastes like cookie dough.  Cookie dough and brownie batter are two of my favorite things.  It doesn’t seem right to serve a bowl of cookie dough to your guests, so this cake was the best alternative.” – MiMi

GIFTIE ETCETERA – When Kids Are Exceptional, But Adults Can’t Tell

“Kids are the same way. Some are so sweet. Others are funny. Each has their own set of strengths and weaknesses, regardless of disabilities and abilities. Sometimes, challenging kids make it hard to remember that. Sometimes, we don’t see the exceptionalities. We are too busy not looking or judging. It’s time to change that and start making the world a better, more accepting place, especially for children facing special struggles.” – Etcetera

Just like a local Country Fair, we have friends, food, family, farming, animals, crafts, cooking and comedy!

Be sure and check the link to this month’s blog party to see what great blogs link up. If you are a blogger, then please link up to three of your posts. It does not have to be new, just one you love or one that you want to share!

Blessings to you,

Laurie – Country Link

We have a blogger who lives in Australia!  We have a blogger who lives within a hour of me.  We have a blogger who is writing a series on adoption.  We have bloggers who must be FANTASTIC cooks because their recipes look FANTASTIC!  We have bloggers who are Thankful!  And we have bloggers who are also very giving.

Here are my Favorite Five/Grand Champion Ribbon Winners for November: (Click on the picture to go to the blog post.  Click on the name under the picture to go to the blog.)

COUNTRY FAIR BlOG PARTY #9

Blog Party - County Fair

Thursday is here again and so is the newest addition of Country Fair Blog Party!

Things have been busy here in the country.  Just like Nicole, The Kansas Farm Mom, I too have been planting plants and arranging the flower beds.  Last year we finally poured sidewalks around the house (it took four years to get them) and began the dirt work for the beds.  With the drought we had the summer of 2013, it was a miracle I kept the few plants I had alive.  Thanks to my favorite Mother-In-Law (my only MIL, but she is still my favorite), I know have lots of PLANTS!  We are receiving a nice gentle spring rain today and these new plants are loving it!

Did you see all of the great posts in week #8 of the Country Fair Blog Party?  39 posts were added!  That is a new record for us!  Thank you to everyone who joined.  We were PLEASED, EXCITED and OVER JOYED about the quality of submissions and the amount of posts.

Here are the Champions from last week:

COUNTRY FAIR BlOG PARTY #7 – post #100!!

product_69185_1_orig1

What is a great way to celebrate the 100th post?  With a party!

A COUNTRY FAIR BLOG PARTY!

My friends, Nicole, Danielle, and Taysha have invited me to be a co-host of their Country Fair Blog Party!  I am very excited!  I think a lot of these three ladies and feel honored that they would include me.  Thank you Country Gals!

Here is how a blog party works:

Bloggers link up their current or favorite post not linked up before.

Readers of the co-hosting blogs will be able to read, gain inspiration, and follow new blogs.

Each week the c0-hosts will choose champions in three categories: Food, Agriculture, and DIY.

The winners will then be highlighted the following week.

Fun is to also be had!

At the bottom of this post there will be a link, (Look for the little blue frog) to add your post and to also view all of the posts in this week’s party. BLOGGERS: you can add up to three posts each week from your blog!  They do not have to be current.  If you have a favorite recipe from the past or a fun DIY project you did last summer, add the link and give others a chance to see what you have done.  VIEWERS: you can visit any and all of the posts as many times as you want!  Just like when you enter something at the County Fair, you like to have some kind of feedback from the viewers/judges, so clicks and comments are greatly appreciated.

What to see what happened last week?  Here are the winners from week #6: Just click on the tile under the picture and it will take you to the Grand Champions.  There have been posts added each week from different types of bloggers from all across the country.  Another thing that Country Fairs are all about, bringing people together.

Nicole mentioned that we might add a Photography category!  If you think this is a good idea, let us know.

Now, time for you to join week #7.  Here is how you link up to the Country Fair Blog Party:

There you have it!  Welcome and Enjoy all of the recipes, articles, projects and photos that you will see over the coming weeks!
